The Kenoza Lake Hummingbirds 4-H group is hosting  “Trick or Treat” to help the  Catskill Animal Rescue (CARE)  at Dick’s Auto Sales located at 5065 NY-52 in Jeffersonville. CARE is a non-profit animal rescue based out of Sullivan County dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding abused, homeless, and abandoned animals forever homes. Please grab up some of the following items and drop them off to Katie before November 1st. They need Lysol cleaner, kitchen bags, dog bones, and any other doggie items you might think of but please no candy. This hard working 4-H group has chosen to help with Animal Care Welfare, volunteering with animal shelters. Last year they made homemade sweet potato treats for the animals! Please take a moment to drop off items, helping them to reach their goal while helping to take care of the animals in need.

Join the adventure with the Girl Scouts! Yet another organization for youth to get involved within their community. Make new friends, explore the outdoors, and make a difference! Girl Scouts is open to all girls in grades K-12. They explore art& STEM, go camping and explore nature, build confidence and leadership. Parents and caregivers are welcome too. Learn how you can support and be a part of the Girl Scout journey. They already have planned yet another amazing year with lots of adventures so please join in the fun! Want to make a difference in your child’s school experience at Sullivan West? Join the Sullivan West Elementary PTSO (Parent Teacher Student Organization)! They are looking for new members and volunteers. They bring together parents, teachers, and students to support and enhance our school community. They fund events, organize activities, and create opportunities that make Sullivan West Elementary an even better place to learn and grow. Everyone is welcome! Do not forget the  Jeffersonville Fire Department is hosting their Annual Roast Beef Dinner on Saturday, October 18 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with Take Out dinners  only for $20. Delicious roast beef, a vegetable, mashed potatoes and gravy and a slice of apple pie. Please come out and support your volunteers!

Save the Date: November 1 from noon to 6 p.m. a “Samhain Celebration” will be at the Solstice and Ash Mystic Shoppe and Scandal Broth Room , located at 4893 State Route 52, Jeffersonville. Tarot readings and ancestral bone casting, crystal harp energy clearing, reiki & chakra balancing, baked goods, herbal skincare, soy candles, gem stones, smudge supplies and more! Drum Circle will be held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with instruments provided. Come out and have a great day!

Do not toss your pumpkin Jack-O-Lanterns, make them a feast for wildlife. Remove wax and candles and give it back to nature- deer, chipmunks, and birds will love this!
