Reminder! The St Patrick’s Parade will be Saturday, March 15th with lineup at noon on Willy Avenue in Jeffersonville. A delicious Pancake Breakfast will be held at St. Georges RC Church from 8 a.m. to noon with an AOH Mass at 10 a.m. and all are welcome to attend. The parade steps off at 1 p.m. with Grand Marshal Peter J. Cummings leading the way from Willy Avenue down Main Street. The McPadden Pipes & Drums are returning with their amazing bagpipes! Any bands, marchers, groups -- including kid’s groups, floats, Fire Departments & EMS responders are invited to participate in this fun filled event. FMI: JP Graham 845-807-7980.
Nominate Your Favorite Older New Yorker – nominate a local 55 and older Sullivan County resident by March 2! The NYS Office for the Aging will celebrate Older New Yorkers’ Day on May 26 with a ceremony in Albany where all honorees will receive a package that includes: a commemorative pin, a hard copy of the book of biographies and a certificate. Additionally, they will be featured on social media and rightfully celebrated in local media. These nominations can come from civic leaders, elected officials and community organizations. The nominee should be a volunteer aged 55 or older that has made a difference in the community through civic engagement. Nomination forms are available at https://sullivanny.gov/departments/aging (click on Nominate a 2026 Older New Yorker) or can be obtained by contacting the Office for the Aging at 845-807-0243 or emailing sullivanofa@sullivanny.gov.

February is deadly for wildlife – drive like they might be anywhere. It’s breeding season and animals travel 10+ miles, hunger peaks so they take risks, they become distracted by scent-marking & territorial disputes and dawn/dusk animal activity when we are on the roads more. Be aware, take your time and stay safe.
