Spring is here with warmer weather and lots of activity from birds and critters too! Think we will be mowing our lawns any day and soon the farmers will be mowing their hay. Lots of our wildlife will soon be having their young; please be careful when you are driving.

On Sunday, April 19, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., local author Mike Vreeland will share excerpts from his newly released middle-grade superhero novel, Dumpster Man, at Domesticities and the Cutting Garden in Youngsville. The event will include readings, Q & A, activities, music, and refreshments. Bring your family and have a fun day out!

A grand opening and ribbon cutting will be held on Friday, May 1 at 10 a.m. for one of Jeffersonville’s newest businesses, Liberty Blooms West, located at 4886 State Route 52, Jeffersonville. Please join Liberty Blooms, Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce and Jeffersonville Area Chamber of Commerce to celebrate this special occasion! Now that spring has arrived, co-owners, Jean Dermer and Tami VanLeuven, are so excited to officially introduce Liberty Blooms West, their second location—an annex of Sullivan County’s beloved Liberty Blooms Florist & Gift Shop in Liberty. The shop features a Bloom Bar where you can build your own bouquet, a grab-and-go cooler stocked with unique arrangements, and a curated selection of gifts including chocolates, candles, plush animals, and more. Open Monday & Thursday from 10a.m. to 4p.m. , Friday from 10a.m. to 5p.m.  and Saturday from 10a.m. to 3p.m. For more information, call 845-482-2023.
