April 22 – April showers certainly have helped the Spring flowers and trees to bloom! Finally, the huge flocks of those ugly black birds (starlings?) have disappeared, and the pretty songbirds can get some food. I never saw bird food disappear so fast!
A friend of mine asked me to share the Liberty Elks Lodge #1545 (located at 21 John Street, Liberty) is hosting a Craft Fair Saturday, May 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. No entrance fee for customers with refreshments for sale throughout the day. Sullivan West Elementary School is hosting their First Career Fair on June 2 at the 94 Gym at the Jeffersonville campus from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. They are inviting parents and community members to share what they do for a career with the elementary students. This week is National Volunteer Week! Thank you to all our volunteer fire departments, EMS volunteers, and all of our other volunteers that give unselfishly to others within our communities too! September 12 at 1 p.m. the 97th Annual Sullivan County Volunteer Firemen’s Association Parade is being hosted by the Grahamsville Fire Department at the Grahamsville Fair Grounds. It is the 80th Anniversary of the Grahamsville Fire Department, our Nation’s 250th Anniversary and the 25th Anniversary of 9/11. Please bring your friends and family to the parade, celebrate and support our volunteers!
September 19 is the Jeff Jamboree in Jeffersonville with Jim Hughson’s Tractor Parade, delicious Pancake Breakfast at the First Presbyterian Church, the Annual Duck Race, free wagon rides with Butch & his beautiful draft horse team, live music, lots of vendors and much more!
