August 26 – JEMS would like to thank everyone that stopped by at the Jeff Post Office on Saturday to purchase duck tickets for the Annual Duck Race at 3 p.m. at the Jeff Jamboree! We had the honor of sitting next to our local Boy Scout Troop # 106 that were selling tickets for their Chicken BBQ being held on Saturday, August 29 (yes, tomorrow) from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. The BBQ is being held at the 1st Presbyterian Church next to the Jeff Firehouse. Please come out and support them! A delicious dinner that you don’t have to make or cleanup from!
Scout Master Mike Vreeland is a talented local writer! He has his book “Dumpster Man” for sale at Domesticities & The Cutting Garden (located at 4055 State Rt. 52, Youngsville). A story about a twelve-year old that rescues a kitten from a stinky dumpster and with new superpowers he saves people and stops crime! Lots more happens – a great children’s book.
At the Grahamsville Fair last weekend the 4-H Moo- Juicers leaders Bob and Linda Kays were recognized at the fair’s opening ceremony for 50 years of volunteer work with the 4-H program! Many 4-H members from both the past and present came to honor them for their years of dedication to the 4-H program and community. Fair board members, 4-H Advisors and County Officials stood up and praised them too! My boys were Moo-Juicers many years ago and I still have wonderful memories from those times. Congratulations Bob and Linda for all of your dedication to so many children (and their animals) all those years!
