Rain, rain go away! What a cold and rainy (for the most part), miserable month of May. Great weather if you are a duck or a goose. I hope that our mother turkeys are successfully incubating baby turkeys.
I forgot to mention last week that the Bethel Lions Club will be having their annual Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, May 25 at the Kauneonga Lake Fire House. The pancake breakfast runs from 8am-12pm. Absolutely delicious food! IMHO the best pancake breakfast in Sullivan County. The Bethel Lions Club does so many fantastic things for our local Town of Bethel community. The Bethel Lions Club not only focuses on eyecare issues but helps support our local food pantry. Now is the time for us to help support them. Hope to see you there!
I ran into Keith and Vicky Krauss at the Sullivan West School vote on Tuesday. Keith advised me that he and his helpers have now completed putting flags on the graves of veterans. Kudos to Keith and the people that helped him remember our veterans.
On Memorial Day, let us all pause and honor and mourn the US military personnel who died while serving in the US Armed Forces. Freedom is not free. On Memorial Day we remember, honor your sacrifice and are forever grateful for your service.
