As February winds down, Lake Huntington is beginning to feel that subtle shift in the air. The days are stretching just a little longer, the sunlight lingers a bit past dinnertime, and even with snow still on the ground, there’s a quiet sense that spring isn’t too far off. It’s that in-between season when we’re still reaching for our winter coats but already thinking about muddy boots, blooming fields, and weekends back outside. After a long stretch of cold, the promise of warmer days ahead feels especially welcome!

Here are some events happening in our community and beyond:

March at The Arts Nest promises a month filled with exceptional live music and intimate performances that highlight some of today’s most compelling singer-songwriters. On Sunday, March 8 at 2:00 p.m., Sam Robbins takes the stage with his warm acoustic sound and reflective, heartfelt songwriting. Often described as an “old soul” artist, Robbins has built a strong national following through extensive touring and festival appearances. His music blends classic singer-songwriter influences with a fresh, modern edge, creating performances that are both introspective and uplifting. Audiences can expect an engaging afternoon of thoughtful lyrics, skillful guitar work, and stories gathered from life on the road. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

On Sunday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m., Briz Shakey presents a powerful solo acoustic tribute to the music of Neil Young. A seasoned East Coast performer with more than three decades of experience, Briz brings authenticity and passion to this special program, performing beloved classics such as “Heart of Gold,” “Ohio,” and “The Needle and the Damage Done.” Beyond the music itself, the show offers insight into Neil Young’s storied career, with engaging narratives woven between songs. The result is an immersive afternoon that celebrates one of rock and folk music’s most influential voices. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

The series concludes on Sunday, March 22 at 4:00 p.m. with a special co-bill featuring acclaimed singer-songwriters Dana Cooper and Marc Douglas Berardo. Both artists are widely respected for their masterful storytelling, seasoned musicianship, and deep connection with audiences. Their performances highlight the heart of Americana songwriting, blending humor, honesty, and rich harmonies. A recent appearance at McDowell House Concerts in Las Cruces, New Mexico, earned enthusiastic praise for their seamless collaboration and compelling stage presence. This promises to be an unforgettable late-afternoon concert experience. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
