March has arrived in Lake Huntington, and with it comes that quiet anticipation of spring. The days are stretching a little longer, the sunlight lingering just enough to remind us that warmer weather is on its way. Gardens are being sketched out on paper and seed packets are making their way to kitchen tables, ready for the first turn of soil. There’s something hopeful about this time of year- crisp morning air, patches of snow slowly retreating, and neighbors beginning to wander out for walks around the lake. Soon enough, we’ll trade heavy coats for light jackets!

Here are some events happening in our community and beyond:

March at The Arts Nest promises a month filled with exceptional live music and intimate performances that highlight some of today’s most compelling singer-songwriters. On Sunday, March 8 at 2:00 p.m., Sam Robbins takes the stage with his warm acoustic sound and reflective, heartfelt songwriting. Often described as an “old soul” artist, Robbins has built a strong national following through extensive touring and festival appearances. His music blends classic singer-songwriter influences with a fresh, modern edge, creating performances that are both introspective and uplifting. Audiences can expect an engaging afternoon of thoughtful lyrics, skillful guitar work, and stories gathered from life on the road. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

On Sunday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m., Briz Shakey presents a powerful solo acoustic tribute to the music of Neil Young. A seasoned East Coast performer with more than three decades of experience, Briz brings authenticity and passion to this special program, performing beloved classics such as “Heart of Gold,” “Ohio,” and “The Needle and the Damage Done.” Beyond the music itself, the show offers insight into Neil Young’s storied career, with engaging narratives woven between songs. The result is an immersive afternoon that celebrates one of rock and folk music’s most influential voices. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

The series concludes on Sunday, March 22 at 4:00 p.m. with a special co-bill featuring acclaimed singer-songwriters Dana Cooper and Marc Douglas Berardo. Both artists are widely respected for their masterful storytelling, seasoned musicianship, and deep connection with audiences. Their performances highlight the heart of Americana songwriting, blending humor, honesty, and rich harmonies. A recent appearance at McDowell House Concerts in Las Cruces, New Mexico earned enthusiastic praise for their seamless collaboration and compelling stage presence. This promises to be an unforgettable late-afternoon concert experience. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

The Delaware Youth Center will host its Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 28 beginning at noon. Families are invited to join the fun for an afternoon filled with egg hunting, photos with the Easter Bunny, playground activities, and delicious hot dogs and concession stand snacks. The event is free to attend, and donations are appreciated.
