COUNTY OF SULLIVAN

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a meeting of the Legislature of the County of Sullivan, New York, held on January 27, 2022, a proposed Local Law entitled "A Local Law Amending Local Law No. 4 of 2007 Imposing a Mortgage Recording Tax" was discussed.

The purpose of this proposed Local Law is that Local Law No. 4 of 2007, which had imposed, in Sullivan County a tax of $0.25 for each $100.00 of real property secured by a mortgage, is due to expire on or about April 30, 2022, and it is the intention of the Legislature to extend the terms of Local Law No. 4 of 2007, until April 30, 2025, by enacting the proposed Local Law effective May 1, 2022, to coincide with the applicable sales tax periods and ensure that there is non-interrupted and continuing imposition of the mortgage recording tax.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Legislature of the County of Sullivan will conduct a public hearing on the aforesaid proposed Local Law at the Legislature's Hearing Room, County Government Center, Monticello, New York, 12701, on February 17, 2022 at 10:50AM , at which time all persons interested will be heard.
