SOUTH FALLSBURG– Last week golf teams from Liberty and Fallsburg teed off at the pristine Tarry Brae golf course. Although competing in a very relaxed environment all the athletes showed an eagerness to finish with good scores on the green. The temperature was in the low fifties creating a picture-perfect backdrop on the course.

The Redhawks finished ahead of the Comets by nearly 20 strokes with the best score of the day coming from senior Jake Cross who shot a 47. Beyond the scorecards, the day was defined by a shared culture of sportsmanship, marked by quiet encouragement and mutual respect among the players.

Despite the competitive nature of the sport of golf, the athletes fostered a collaborative environment and were very supportive, often assisting each other using range-finder apps to gauge distances and offering encouragement after difficult shots.

In a sport that is often defined by individual effort, this match served as a powerful reminder that greatness is best achieved when players acknowledge their common ground and support each other.
