Beloved florist Liberty Blooms will expand operations to a new shop in Jeffersonville this week, just in time for the James Dworetsky Memorial Holiday Parade the day after Thanksgiving. Co-owner Jean Dermer, who owns and operates Liberty Blooms with Tami Van Leuven, said the expansion comes as a result of their popularity outside of Liberty.

“We get a lot of business from the western side of the county, and we thought it would be a nice thing to be out there for the people that support us,” Dermer said.

The new shop, located at 4886 NY-52 in downtown Jeffersonville, will feature a smaller sampling of items and a heavier concentration of gift items but still embody the high standard of artisanal flower arrangements that their customers have come to love.

Liberty Blooms opened their flagship store at 91 N Main Street in Liberty during Mother’s Day week in 2024, and has since then built a solid clientele that values their warm and welcoming service and especially the exquisite arrangements by seasoned florist Joseph Topolski.

In addition to offering a wide selection of beautiful bouquets for a variety of occasions (see their website at libertybloomsflorist.com), Liberty Blooms is also your source for wreaths, holiday ornaments, candles, and stuffed animals, and delivers throughout Sullivan County.

Dermer said the flower arrangements they offer are “seasonal, very personal, and custom-designed.” She said that Topolski is so well known in the area for his expertise that many clients choose the “Designer’s Choice” option, allowing the veteran florist to spread his wings and create something truly unique and lovely for their special occasion.

Dermer cherishes “when someone walks into the shop and they see the flowers and they smile.” She also loves witnessing the surprise on someone’s face when they receive a flower delivery.

Liberty Blooms is in the business of lighting up faces, and this holiday season you can visit them at their new store in Jeffersonville—it’s the perfect time to share their wonderful selection of personalized flower bouquets with those you love.
