LIVINGSTON MANOR – The Manor/Roscoe Wildcats used their homefield advantage and crowd support to win an exciting matchup on Senior Night against the visiting Burke Eagles.
The Wildcats have just one graduating senior this year which works well for next year’s returning roster. Michelle McKinley will be the only Wildcat leaving the pack this year. McKinley was surrounded by family and friends as AD Chris Hubert recognized her for all her hard work and dedication over the years in sports and athletics. After the brief ceremony the game was underway.
The Eagles soared to a great start scoring four runs in the top of the first inning. When the Wildcats stepped up to the plate, they let loose, taking advantage of a bases loaded situation with McKinley at bat. The home team went on to score a total of 10 runs in the inning before heading back into the outfield.
The Eagles were able to battle back in this exciting head-to-head contest. Although much of the game remained close the Wildcats pulled away and “ruled the roost” in the final innings of the game scoring a lofty 29-17 win over the Eagles who had 10 hits. Burke’s Cate Farrell had three 2B’s, HR, 3R and Morgan Owen had 3H and 3R.
Manor/Roscoe had 12 hits. Leah Ladenhauf had 1B, HR, 2RBI, 5R, Allison Froelich scored 2 hits, 3R, and 2RBI and Gianna Dutcher, pitcher for the Wildcats had 3R and 3RBI.
