This past week we watched our country come together to mourn the loss of a true humanitarian, patriot, faithful man, and a man of public service. President Jimmy Carter will be remembered for his desire to find peace, and to ensure community activism by helping one’s neighbors. His work spanned the globe and he will live on in our hearts, minds, and memories as a President who was kind and cared.
This weekend, we celebrate the great Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. He stated, “At the heart of all that civilization has meant and developed is ‘community’-the mutually cooperative and voluntary venture of man to assume a semblance of responsibility for his brother.” Two men from different backgrounds who understood that brother(sister)hood, belief in helping others, in a peaceful manner was what life was about.
So often I share information of those making a difference in our own community. The work being done follows the lead of these two great men. We have a chance to strengthen our community and world by focusing on the good and kindness while helping others. You ask how? Well….
