The Superbowl is over, and Valentine’s Day is only a few days away. That means spring is just around the corner. With hopes of a warming trend this week, snow will start to melt, the days will get longer and more happening are yet to come.
Just in case you did not get your fill of chili during the game, stop by the lobby of the Sullivan County Government Center on Friday, February 13 from 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM for the Town of Wallkill Boys and Girls Club Chili and Loaded Baked Potato Sale. Proceeds will benefit the 48th Annual 98.3 WSUL Heart-a-thon.
Events Schedule for the Heart-a-thon continues with Donation Dining at Mr. Shane’s in Matamoras, PA on February 12 with 10 percent of proceeds to be donated to the cause. In addition, Kevin’s in Rock Hill will donate 50 percent of specials and raffle on February 18.
Rotary Clubs of Sullivan County still have open spaces for donations during their Annual Heart-a-thon Blood Drive on February 20 from Noon until 6pm at Resorts World Catskills. As the winter cold continues to cancel many blood center sites, it is important for us to pitch in to help ensure those in need have the blood supply needed. Please help save lives by signing up today to donate. It is quick and easy. About 1/2 an hour total from signing in, to delicious snacks to replenish your body, you can save 3 lives with your donation. Hurleyville Fire Department and Town of Fallsburg Youth Commission hold its 38th Annual Ice Fishing Contest at Morningside Lake, Brickman Road in Hurleyville on February 14 from 7 AM – 3 PM. Adults are $5 with 15 and under Free. For more information, call 845 436-5418 or visit www.hurleyville.com.
The Sullivan County Conservations Club presents its Annual King of the Ice on Sunday, February 15 at Kauneonga Lake, White Lake with contest running from 6 AM – 3 PM. For well over 30 years, King of the Ice has been considered the area’s premier ice fishing contest. Funds raised help to fund ongoing youth and adult safety, conservation, and education efforts. The Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre (HPAC) unveiled its 2026 Senior Cinema lineup, featuring a curated selection of beloved films and a new, convenient showtime of 1:00 PM. This cherished program, held on the second Thursday of each month, provides seniors in the community with an opportunity to connect, engage, and enjoy a welcoming space for entertainment and socialization.
HPAC’s Senior Cinema program has been a lifeline for many seniors in the area, offering more than just a movie screening.
