YULAN — Local clergy and community members will gather Sunday for a “One Nation Under God” prayer event at the Yulan ball field.

The event, organized by the Bridgepoint Clergy group and former Town of Highland Supervisor Allan Schadt, is scheduled for May 17 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Yulan Ball Field on Park Road.

According to organizers, the gathering will include prayers for the nation, local churches and the broader community. A second portion of the program is expected to recognize local authorities, emergency responders, military personnel, law enforcement officers and residents facing illness or hardship.

Town officials promoted the event during Tuesday night’s Town of Highland Town Board meeting and described it as open to the public.

The event is being hosted by Bridgepoint Clergy, a coalition of local churches and faith leaders. Organizers encouraged residents and families from throughout the area to attend.

Additional event information has also been posted through the Greater Barryville Chamber of Commerce community calendar. Allan Schadt is listed as the contact person for the gathering.
