SULLIVAN COUNTY – The Eldred Yellowjackets are riding high on their 52-40 win over the Onteora Eagles. The ‘jackets are second in the league behind Sullivan West who hold the top spot. The Yellowjackets are 5-2.
They are off this week but have already secured a playoff spot in Division 1. They will have to wait until after the weekend for final seeding results.
The Fallsburg Comets did not field a team this season, but Coach Lionel White says, “Our numbers should grow next year, and we will be competitive.” We look forward to seeing the Comets in action next season.
The Redhawks are scheduled to face the Marlboro Dukes on Saturday, October 25 at 1 pm. With one more additional game scheduled for this season on Halloween we’ll look to see if the Redhawks can grab a “W.”
The Panthers are scheduled to play the 2-5 Highland Huskies tonight on the road at 7 pm in a non-conference game. Will the Panthers capture their first win of the season over the Huskies? Check next Friday’s Pigskin Preview for full results from this week’s football action.
The Rockland Wolves (1-6) faced the Tri-Valley Bears (2-4) last week. These squads were hungry coming into this game with both teams scoring off their first drives. The Bears ultimately took this game with a 36-12 victory over the Wolves. Both coaches echoing how much their young line-ups have improved over the course of the season. The Bears have a tough game ahead of them, as they face the 5-1 Sullivan West Bulldogs who are on a 4-game win streak. The Bulldogs and the Bears have also secured their spots in the playoffs. Watch these two teams go head-to-head on Saturday at 1pm with the Bears holding homefield advantage.
