Proposed zoning and discrimination claim

To the editor:

I am a seven-year resident of the Town of Fallsburg voicing my concerns over the proposed zoning regulations as reported in the Democrat. Since moving into the area I have noticed large residential buildings taking the place of the woods and farm lands and some questions came to mind.

One, where is the infrastructure to support this and who will pay for it?

Two, is this what is planned for the rest of agricultural land in the Town of Fallsburg?

And three, who is going to occupy these buildings since most of the buildings belonging to religious groups are vacant most of the year?

Are we sacrificing the beauty of our countryside for religious groups who are not here to enjoy the winters with us? This also brings to mind the illegal construction of multiple religious dwellings on agriculturally zoned land on Rose Road. Would this be the back door plan to occupy them? WHO are the ones that will pay the increase on taxes associated with these changes? Year round Home Owners!

This calls to question who is discriminating against who? Religious groups are not discriminated here and there is much religious toleration. It’s the religious groups who are doing the bullying and are discriminating because full-time residents don’t go along with their town reconstruction schemes.

It is easy to pull Discrimination Card, but the locals are being bullied. (Research the RLUIPA ACT,  is necessary may fall under Chevron Decision.)
