After his team’s successful performance, Coach Richard Feeney said, “I am so proud of what these girls have accomplished this season as they have achieved and surpassed my pre-season goals for them. Captains Sydania Foster, Brooke Bull, Audrey Krum, and Starriah Harris have set the tone from day 1, and the team has really responded to their leadership and intensity, which has resulted in the team’s current run with the division 3 title, and a tight 7th place finish at sectionals. For divisions, a majority of our athletes stepped up to earn points, and it took everything we had to earn the win that came down to the final event. As for sectionals, we had an unlucky break at the end of the night, which knocked us down a few spots of our team goal for a top 5 finish, but we were able to come away with a few champions in their events which is always a great accomplishment on its own. This year’s success is 5 years in the making, and I’m glad the girls’ hard work is being recognized and rewarded because they truly are a fantastic group to be around. They deserve it all, and I’m excited for their postseason run coming up the next few weeks as we head into state qualifiers.”
