NARROWSBURG – The Upper Delaware Council (UDC) will host a presentation, “Public Accesses on the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River” on Thursday, May 1, at 7pm in person at the 211 Bridge Street, Narrowsburg office and virtually by Zoom.
Jessica Weinman, facility manager for the National Park Service’s (NPS) Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River, will discuss the co-management of public river accesses throughout the NY-PA river corridor that extends from the confluence of the East and West Branches of the Delaware River below Hancock downstream to Railroad Bridge No. 2 near Cherry Island at Sparrowbush.
The NPS co-manages public access points with a variety of partners. Their amenities, services offered, current conditions, and maintenance plans will be reviewed.
Weinman oversees the operation and maintenance of buildings, grounds, river accesses, parking areas, trails, and the historic Roebling’s Delaware Aqueduct.
With 22 years of experience in the maintenance division across seven National Park units, she has developed expertise in a variety of disciplines, contributing to the preservation and functionality of these cherished natural and historic sites.
The UDC’s monthly business meeting to follow will include reports from the Delaware River Basin Commission, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, National Park Service, and UDC Executive Director; discussion of old and new business; and public comments.
All UDC meetings are open to the public.
