The 35th annual Riverfest drew a large crowd on Sunday, with an estimated 2,000 visitors throughout the day. The day started with some rain but as soon as it let up swarms of people gathered on Main Street to take in live music, street vendors, a poster auction and food.
Hosted by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA), Riverfest celebrates the communities’ art scene while also paying tribute to the natural beauty of the Delaware River.
The popular poster auction raised $8,000 for the DVAA, a non-profit organization that is the Arts Council of Sullivan County.
“On a day that was supposed to bring torrential rain, DVAA’s 35th Riverfest truly shined,” said Ariel Shanberg, Executive Director of DVAA. “Thanks to our tireless volunteers and staff who ensured that everyone’s experience – from our vendors, guest presenters and performers to our over 2,000 attendees – and a little bit of Upper Delaware Valley weather magic - it was a beautiful celebration of our region’s cultural and ecological treasurers.”
