Wreaths Across America’s mission goal is to “remember, honor, and teach.”
On Saturday, December 14, veterans and representatives from several branches of the United States Armed Forces, as well as onlookers and community members, gathered at Roscoe’s Westfield Flats Cemetery to lay wreaths and honor local deceased veterans.
Approximately 300 wreaths were placed on graves in the participating cemeteries.
Roscoe is taking part in Wreaths Across America for the fourth consecutive year. This year, they also added Beaverkill Cemetery to that list.
During the service, Livingston Manor senior Wesley Kinne performed The Star-Spangled Banner, Location Coordinator Valorie Rittendale gave opening remarks and Gary Siegel played Taps in honor of those buried in the Westfield Flats and Riverview Cemeteries.
Roscoe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center honored veterans with its Wreaths Across America initiative. Cub Scout Pack 105, led by Jessyca Wolcott, decorated printed wreaths with messages of thanks and cheer for veterans in the nursing home.
