MONTICELLO – On Monday, November 17, Mrs. Moore and Mrs. VanderMeulen’s kindergarten class at the George L. Cooke Elementary School proudly hosted their annual Thanksgiving Feast in honor of local first responders. Guests from the Monticello Joint Fire District, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department, and the Monticello Police Department joined the students for an afternoon of good food, warm conversation, and community celebration.

The school extends heartfelt thanks to firefighters Wayne VanderMeulen, Brandyn Howell, Brendon Cunningham, Rob Betanzos, and Justin Mapes (Monticello Joint Fire District); Sergeant Rose Ionta (Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department); and Chief David Lindsay and Sergeant Tyrus Walker (Monticello Police Department) for taking time from their duties to share the day with the young learners. The school is also grateful for the parent volunteers whose generous support helped make the feast a smooth and memorable experience for everyone.
