MONROE-WOODBURY – For the second consecutive year, Ella Herbert was selected to play for the Mid-Hudson BCANY Summer girls’ basketball team at Hoops Fest.

The tournament took place earlier this month at Monroe-Woodbury High School. “It was good meeting new girls and creating chemistry on the floor. The first year I was an alternate so I’m glad I was selected again this year,” Herbert commented.

Herbert was the only student selected from Sullivan County to play alongside other athletes from Section IX schools around the region. An opportunity she remains humble about. “I think it’s really cool to be chosen but I would like to see more athletes from Sullivan County included to get the experience of playing at that level!”

As she enters her final year of high school basketball Herbert says she will ‘continue working hard,’ and hopes to get better at the game and wants to help build the Sullivan West team.
