ROSCOE — The Roscoe Collective, an art gallery and shared creative space at 57 Stewart Avenue in Roscoe, will celebrate its first anniversary with a party and group show opening on Saturday, October 24, from 12-7pm. Member artists will debut new work inspired by fire, a fitting theme for a first year that ignited a new spark in Roscoe's arts scene. The event is free and includes food and drink.

The Roscoe Collective, founded in October 2025 by artist Reynan Punzalan, is a gallery, community event space, and shop run by eight artist members, all local to the area: Punzalan, Jen de Fouchier, Jordan Harvey, Ianthe Jackson, Jess Kaufman, Marisa Ruglio, Teresa Tulipano, and Britta Wheeler. The artists’ works include paintings, photography, ceramics, woodblock prints, textile art, and mixed media.

In its landmark first year, The Roscoe Collective has become an arts destination in Roscoe, hosting events and showcasing the diversity and depth of local artists’ work. The group hosted an astonishing 70 events in their first year, including artist talks, literary salons, community classes, and Roscoe’s Pride Prom.

Founder and textile artist Reynan Punzalan said, “When I first had the idea to start The Roscoe Collective, I envisioned a space where art is for everyone – accessible, local, and welcoming. I’m so proud that the group that’s come together is bringing that vision to life, and that our community has embraced it.”

Director of Programming and mixed media artist Teresa Tulipano, said, “It has been an amazing first year for The Roscoe Collective. It’s been a joy to program everything we can conceive of, including art and writing classes, artist talks, plays, films, a record release party, literary readings, storytelling, chess tournaments, dance parties and Pride events. We’re deeply grateful to our supportive community, and in an effort to thank Roscoe’s denizens, we’ve offered mostly free programming, in addition to organizing fundraisers and a food drive to benefit Roscoe’s Shepherd’s Pantry. We are thrilled to see what our second year holds in store.”

Ceramicist and collective member Marisa Ruglio said, “Organizing our August show, In Bloom, gave me the opportunity to bring our ceramic community together with artists from across the Collective. It was beautiful to hear the different stories behind the work, see so many interpretations of a shared theme, and watch friends, artists, and community members come together and make new connections. I can’t wait to see what fall and winter at the Collective will ignite.”

Open Saturdays 9–3 and Sundays 10–2, or by appointment. Follow along on Instagram @TheRoscoeCollective or www.theroscoecollective.com.
