Besides the very serious floods in Texas, where people died because they weren’t notified of the threat, there are other states, including NY and NJ which do not have accurate systems set up for emergency situations. Since I have homes in both of these states this news was especially upsetting to me.
I will now be taking a couple of mini vacations so I won’t be tempted to keep watching the news for awhile. My daughter and I had volunteered to watch her grandchild and my great-grandchild (Scotty) for a couple of days while his parents, John and Christine got packed up to move to a new house. Since Patricia’s friend, Vicky is here from the state of Washington, John turned down our offer and said they would rather visit with us when we go to their house in Toms River instead.
After that we plan to make a visit to Callicoon Center which is long overdue.
