August 5 – I don’t want to believe the summer is getting close to an end, but this weather isn’t making it any easier! One day you have the air conditioning on and it’s hot and humid and the next day you are getting soaked with the rain and wearing your long pants again. Maybe we will be lucky and have a warm September? The Sullivan County Bureau of Fire warns us to never touch or drive over a downed electric line so be careful whenever it storms.

Come out and support our Sullivan County 4-H Youth at the Livestock Market & Product Auction Sunday, August 16 at the Grahamsville Little World’s Fair. Our local 4-H members have worked incredibly hard all year, raising livestock, growing, creating, baking, and hand crafting beautiful, quality items. Preview begins at Noon and the Auction starts at 1 p.m.

Bring your family and friends to a Movie Music Family Dance Party on Friday, August 21 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at The Backyard Park (21 Lovett Lane, Jeffersonville). FREE for all ages kid -friendly sing along with the songs we all know by heart! Wear your favorite costume if you’d like and enjoy Free pony rides too! It’s almost time for the 2nd Annual Summerween in Jeffersonville sponsored by Nancy, Proprietor of The Solstice and Ash Mystic Shoppe, on Sunday, August 30 from Noon ‘til 3 p.m. Start at her Solstice Shoppe, pick up your map of participating businesses on Main Street and design your Trick or Treat Bag to hold your goodies as you go through town!

Reminder: The 3rd Annual North Branch-Hortonville Firehouse 4 Mile Run/Walk is happening Saturday, August 29 at 8:30 a.m. The race begins at the North Branch Firehouse and ends at the Hortonville Firehouse, in time for the start of their Annual Field Day. All proceeds will benefit the North Branch Fire Department to help operations and emergency response capabilities for their local firefighters. Race shirt for early registrants with early registration ending on August 1. Same day registration is from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. on the 29th at the North Branch Fire Department.
