MONTICELLO – The new year starts with an exciting announcement for Waschitz Pavloff CPA LLP, as we celebrate the admission of three new partners to the partnership. 

Our new partners have distinguished themselves through their ability to inspire those around them.  Their hard work and commitment to quality is shown by the impact they have made on our clients, colleagues, and communities in which we operate.  

They demonstrate our  firm’s values by delivering exceptional client service and providing support and mentorship within the firm. It is with great pride that we announce Evan Laput, Kaitlyn Poplaski and Charles Tar’s promotion to Partner.  Please join us in congratulating them on this major accomplishment.

  

Evan J. Laput, CPA

Evan graduated from PennWest Clarion (formerly Clarion University of Pennsylvania) in 2016 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. 

He joined Knack Pavloff & Company, the predecessor to Waschitz Pavloff in 2014 and obtained his Certified Public Accountant license in 2018.  Evan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Evan works closely with clients in various industries to provide tax planning and compliance services, specializing in private owner-managed businesses and individuals.  His tax experience extends to not-for-profits, trust and estates, and conducting research on a variety of complex tax issues.  He also provides assurance services for a wide variety of industries, including governmental entities and not-for-profit organizations.

  

Kaitlyn Poplaski, CPA

Kaitlyn graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz with a Bachelor of Science in accounting in 2014. She joined Knack Pavloff & Company, the predecessor to Waschitz Pavloff CPA, in June 2015.  

Kaitlyn earned her MBA with a concentration in Public Accountancy from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2016 and obtained her Certified Public Accountant license in 2017.  Kaitlyn is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Kaitlyn currently serves as Treasurer on the Boards of Christ Health Care Ministry, Inc. and the Callicoon Depot, Inc.  She primarily services private owner-managed businesses and individuals, covering a wide range of business sectors.  Tax planning and compliance is a keystone of her services provided to clients. Her areas of expertise also include audits of employee benefit plans, not-for-profit and government organizations. 

  

Charles Tar, CPA

Charles graduated from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Business Administration.  He returned to the State University of New York at New Paltz and earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting with honors in 2015.  He joined Knack Pavloff & Company, the predecessor to Waschitz Pavloff in June 2015 and obtained his Certified Public Accountant license in 2018.  Charles is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Charles primarily services owner-managed business and individuals with a strong focus on taxation, including but not limited to corporate and personal tax planning and tax compliance.  He also provides assurance services for a wide variety of industries.
