HONESDALE, PA – The team at Wayne Memorial Hospital’s Advanced Wound Care Center understands how serious and challenging it is to treat chronic, slow-healing wounds. To brighten an otherwise difficult experience, they always make sure to include a little fun. Their 4th Annual Wound Care Symposium in Honesdale on Thursday, April 23rd, did just that by featuring games, prizes, and plenty of treats.
The event included supply vendors with products and services and offered many approaches vital to wound care patients. Chronic wounds, according to the National Institutes of Health, are those that fail to heal within four to six weeks. Wayne Memorial’s multi-disciplinary team supports the patient and family through the healing process to optimize the patients’ ability to regain mobility and independence, reduce pain and the risk for infection, and improve their quality of life.
