WOODRIDGE — On March 6, 2025, the Fallsburg Police Department received a report of a domestic dispute that occurred in a vehicle in Woodridge. A female victim alleged that she and her husband, Benjamin Odom, were involved in verbal dispute in a vehicle and that during the
dispute, he had forcibly taken her cell phone from her possession and thrown it across the street while she was attempting to contact 911 for police assistance. Benjamin Odom was allegedly in violation of a full stay away order of protection at the time of the incident. Charges were filed against Benjamin Odom and officers were unable to locate him at this time. Shortly after, the female victim contacted police again and reported a second domestic dispute between her and her husband where it was alleged that he had stabbed a tire on her vehicle.
A warrant for Benjamin Odom’s arrest was later issued, as police were once again unable to locate him. On April 16, 2025, the arrest warrant for Benjamin Odom was executed after Sullivan County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to Garnet Health Catskill for a report of a disturbance at the location involving Odom. Fallsburg Police responded to the hospital to assist the responding deputies, where Odom then attempted to flee the location on foot resulting in a foot pursuit with police. He was taken into police custody without further incident and transported to Fallsburg Police headquarters for processing. Benjamin was charged with Robbery in the 3rd degree and Criminal Contempt in the 1st degree, both felonies, along with Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree and Petit Larceny, both misdemeanors. Benjamin Odom was
arraigned in the Town of Fallsburg Justice Court by the Honorable Judge Scheinman and was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail. Odom is scheduled to appear in the Town of Fallsburg Justice Court at a later time
