39th Annual Academic Achievement Celebration Recognizes Top Students

LIBERTY — On June 10, Sullivan BOCES held its Thirty-Ninth Annual Academic Achievement Celebration at the Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark to honor the county’s top students of the Class of 2024. The event was attended by Superintendents of Schools, Principals, Board Presidents, and Dr. Theresa Hamlin, President & CEO of The Center for Discovery, who served as the guest speaker.

Dr. Hamlin congratulated the students on their exceptional academic achievements, expressing immense pride in their hard work and dedication. She highlighted how their perseverance and commitment have set them apart, especially considering the challenges posed by COVID-19. She noted that tonight’s celebration is a tribute to all they have achieved, emphasizing that their accomplishments speak volumes about their character and resilience. Dr. Hamlin also spoke of the importance of giving back to the community, urging the students to return to Sullivan County to contribute to its growth and development.

At the ceremony, Dr. Robert M. Dufour, District Superintendent of Sullivan BOCES, along with the School Superintendent, Board President, and High School Principal, presented the students with a Certificate of Achievement and a Rocket Notebook, courtesy of the Rolling V Bus Corporation.

This year’s top students include:

Eldred CSD:  Madison Bonnell and Kaitlyn McGarry

Fallsburg CSD: Mia Irlbacher, Jane Islas Escamilla, Angelina Levner, and Charlotte Steingart

Liberty CSD: Jumana Abu Al Ghanam, Julia Juron, Erin Skinner, Benjamin Visconti, and Sincere Warren

Livingston Manor CSD: Jillian Carlsen and Jackson Krause

Monticello CSD: Caroline Alcantara, Tamar Houri, Michelle Lima Enriquez, Joshua Miller, Zachary Roosa, Didi San Miguel, Kritika Talukder, and Rachel Zirt

Roscoe CSD: Sarah Gorr and Aiden Johnston

Sullivan West CSD: Coco Gao, Elizabeth Reeves, Nicole Reeves, and Henry Simon

Tri-Valley CSD: Scott Cole, Craig Costa, Abbigail Mentnech, and Lily Siciliano
