KIAMESHA LAKE — State Police, Monticello Fire, Mountaindale EMS and Catskills Chaveirim were all present at the Hebrew Day School last Tuesday, November 26, for a significant event focused on community engagement and education.
Representatives from these organizations took the time to speak with both staff and students, thoroughly explaining how their respective services play an important role in supporting and enhancing the safety of the community at large. In a heartfelt gesture of appreciation, the students created posters, wrote letters and captured photographs to thank their local heroes for their dedication and service.
Following this educational interaction, the children had an exciting opportunity to engage with various aspects of emergency services.
They had a chance to meet members of the K-9 unit, where they learned about the vital work that trained dogs perform in law enforcement.
Additionally, students explored fire trucks up close, gaining knowledge about the equipment that helps save lives during emergencies. To top off this memorable experience, delicious donuts were provided for everyone in attendance.
“It was a wonderful experience for staff, students and our heroes,” stated Shayna Weinberg from the Hebrew Day School.
