Villa Roma Set to Resume Operations Following Swift Resolution of Power Issue

Posted

CALLICOON – The Villa Roma Resort began gearing up to resume operations today, Tuesday, September 29, following the resolution of the outstanding electricity account with NYSEG. Villa Roma paid its outstanding $400,000 balance on Monday and power was restored at approximately 3:45 p.m., following a week without electric service.

Management moved quickly to address last Monday's NYSEG termination issue and remains focused on ensuring a smooth return to normal operations for guests, timeshare owners and employees.

“We have addressed the electricity matter and are focused on getting Villa Roma fully operational again. Our priority is to welcome our guests, owners and employees back and continue the work we have underway across the resort,” said Sandeep Wadhwa, Chairman, FAY Investment Group.

“Since the acquisition, Fay Hospitality has invested more than $11 million in management operations, renovations and capital improvements, and remains committed to fully upgrading and renovating the resort,” Wadhwa said.

Villa Roma was acquired by Fay Hospitality Catskills LLC on September 6, 2024, for $20.7 million from long-time owners Marty Passante and Paul Carlucci, who had owned and operated the resort for 54 years.

The 139-room resort comprises 232 timeshare apartments, an 18-hole Championship Golf Course, The Club at Villa Roma, a ski chalet, four outdoor pools and other recreational and resort facilities.

With the electricity matter resolved and operations resuming, the focus is now on welcoming guests and timeshare owners back and continuing the investment and improvements planned for Villa Roma, according to management.
