LIBERTY — A few short outbursts of rain couldn’t dampen the mood at the Town of Liberty’s 3rd Annual Cinco De Mayo celebration, which saw time-honored traditions of music, food and dancing flood North Main Street all day Saturday.
The line of merchant tents set up along the sidewalks, as well as the many overhead coverings along Main Street, gave festival-goers a chance to stay dry and allow the mariachi band to keep playing.
Town Board member Dean Farrand said that “[It was] an absolute blast for the third year in a row.”
While enjoying the festivities on Main Street, Sullivan County Legislator Luiz Alvarez also praised the event, saying it is a great time for different people to come together.
