American Legion of the Town of Highland accepting flags to be respectfully retired

ELDRED - With the coming of the pleasant seasonal weather, it is a perfect time to once again display our national flag. When we do, it should be done respectfully.

OUR AMERICAN FLAG

You were once young and bright. Your colors glistened in the sunlight. Your fabric was strong and your banners snapped with authority in the wind.

But time does what time does and now your colors have faded and your fabric has worn thin.

The wind has taken its toll and your banners have shredded. Come on over, you’ve done your best, let us respectfully lay you to rest.

The American Legion of the Town of Highland is accepting American Flags that have served with honor and should now be relieved of active duty and respectfully retired. We have a flag receptacle placed at the front door of our post located at, 17 Collins Road, Eldred.

For more information call (845) 557-8915.
