ROCK HILL – 100th Assembly District Member Paula Elaine Kay announced that she has
been appointed to the Standing Committee for Environmental Conservation. Kay thanked
Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie for this important appointment. She continues to serve on the
Agriculture, Economic Development, Insurance, Racing and Wagering, and Veterans Committees.
Kay says, “The 100th district is one of the most beautiful and environmentally sensitive regions of the state. I’m proud to work toward continued preservation and sensible use of our resources.”
In the last session Kay cosponsored a bill to permit the use of crossbows, anywhere long bows are permitted for hunting. Kay is currently sponsoring legislation to provide free sporting licenses to veterans who are 100% disabled.
She adds that she welcomes the Governor’s creation of 90 new positions in DEC to expedite permitting applications. Kay is also a cosponsor of the Sustainable Affordable Housing and Sprawl Prevention Act, and the Packaging Reduction and Recycling Infrastructure Act.
