Business owners vote for LaBue

To the editor:

I am a retired self-employed small business owner and that is just one reason why I am voting for Lisa Labue in the state’s 100th Assembly District.

Ms. Labue is a former small business owner herself and as such she understands what it takes and how difficult it is to operate any business in New York.

Her opponent, 20-year incumbent Aileen Gunther, has never operated a business nor, in my opinion, would she even be capable of. This became apparent to me after listening to the recent debate between the two candidates.

Ms. Labue spoke of her experience of successfully operating her own business while raising her two sons as a single parent. Gunther meanwhile continuously reminded those listening that “I am a nurse.”

While commendable and a much respected profession, she possesses no business experience whatsoever! During closing remarks Gunther shouted, “I am good at my job.”

If she thinks that is true because she has doled out hundreds of thousands of dollars of our money, than her idea of being good at a job is much different from mine!

Twenty years of giving away our money has made her good at one thing, raising our taxes! I am tired of watching and hearing so many businesses failing and leaving New York because of high taxes and the “un-business like” policies put in place by representatives, many like Gunther, who have been in office for many years.

Lisa Labue has pledged to go to Albany to be our voice, one of us for all of us! It’s time we elect someone to represent us who has the real life experience of operating a business in New York. Even if you are not a business owner, I ask that you join my family and I in supporting Lisa Labue for Assembly. It’s time for a change. It’s time for Lisa Labue!
