COCHECTON — A brush fire turned structure fire consumed a barn on 89 Cross Road early Thursday afternoon. The incident was reported at 11:16 a.m.
According to Callicoon Fire Department Station 63 via Facebook, they were “automatically dispatched” with the Lake Huntington Fire Department Station 15 for a brush fire.
As they were enroute responding units were advised that a structure was “now involved”, updating Callicoon’s response for their ladder truck.
Additional departments on the scene included White Lake Fire Department (Station 35) and Hortonville Fire Department (Station 10). Also responding were county fire investigators. On standby were Narrowsburg and Equinunk, PA Fire Departments.
EMS present included Cochecton EMS, Tusten EMS, and Bethel EMS.
According to Lake Huntington Fire Chief Mike Pomes, the damage was contained to the barn, two sheds, and a part of a garage. There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
