Cpl. Jared Moore visits FSCD for Christmas

Posted

Immediately upon graduating from Fallsburg High School in 2019, Jared Moore enlisted in the US Marine Corps for a five year contract.  Earlier that same school year, his older brother Zach visited their little sister Chloe Jordy, who was in kindergarten. He was dressed in his US Army fatigues and was a big hit with the young children.

On the afternoon of December 21, 2022, Cpl. Jared Moore reprised the family visit to the two sections of Pre-K classrooms and the fifth grade classroom of sister Chloe.  He was wearing a Marine Corps camouflage uniform.  The younger children were studying about veterans and how they serve the country so they were eager to meet Cpl. Moore.  He was accompanied to all the rooms with his very happy mom, Ms. Helen Jordy, a long-time teacher assistant at BCES.

The highlight of the visit came in Ms. Mednick’s fifth grade class when Chloe introduced her big brother in front of her classmates.  Jared is 6’5” now and Chloe has grown a least ten inches since kindergarten.  She seemed two feet taller because of the added stature of the pride she has for Jared.

Everyone was pleased with this wonderful opportunity to be with the young man, home on leave for Christmas to be with his family and with the children from the school where he grew up. Thank you for your service Jared to the country and to the children of Fallsburg that appreciate your protecting them.
