ROCK HILL - A Sullivan County modified men's softball league is enjoying a rebirth this season as the Rock Hill Modified softball league features seven teams that play scheduled games Monday and Wednesday at the well managed softball facility owned by the Rock Hill Fire Department.

The league is managed by Michael Greco of Monticello, and features this year, seven teams using the modified pitching style.

The seven teams include Darders, Busch Bombers, American Electric, D'Tech, Americare, Presti Auction and White Lake.

On Monday and Wednesday the first game starts at 6:30 and if there is a second game it starts around 8 p.m.

The Rock Hill Fire Department softball complex offers a well-manicured softball diamond with a dirt-sand infield and fencing surrounding the entire playing field. Spectator bleachers are available, there are bathroom facilities and state-of-the-art lighting provides excellent lighting for night games.

Parking is provided for players and spectators opposite the first house.

Greco provides a website titled Rock Hill Modified Softball league and live game coverage is available on Facebook.

Two teams which rank one and two in team standings clashed on the Rock Hill diamond last Friday night in a doubleheader split that saw Darders edge Busch Bombers 8-6 in the first game while Busch Bombers gave Darders their first loss of the season in the second game 18-2 by the 10 run rule.

Scoring in the first game saw Darders push across one run in the first inning, one run in the fourth inning, three in the fifth, two in sixth and one in the seventh.

Busch Bombers scored one run in the first inning, two in the second, and three in the sixth inning.

Eric Leewe took the win for Darders while Ian Exner suffered the loss for the Busch Bombers. Leewe also hit a home run in the fourth inning for Darders.

Leewe did not pitch the second game for Darders and the Busch Bombers cruised to an easy 10 run rule victory. Exner got the win in the second game for the Busch Bombers.
