CALLICOON—The Delaware Youth Center, located at 8 Creamery Road in Callicoon, held its 2024 Holiday Craft Fair on Friday, November 29. Vendors of all kinds filled the venue for the event, which took place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On Black Friday, many locals attended to help show their support for the local businesses and were also treated to homemade chili served by board member Margaret Luty and other volunteers of the Youth Center. The day was a success with cars lined behind the Youth Center and all up Lower Main Street.
They also held a Handmade Quilt Raffle, with this year’s quilt being “Knee Deep in the Hoopla” by Nancy Burdick. The 64-inch x 82-inch quilt used “Pladish Pattern” by Erica Jackman of Kitchen Table Quilting. Raffle prices were one ticket for $5 and five for $20.
The Saturday after Thanksgiving was dubbed “Small Business Saturday” by American Express in 2010 and events such as the craft fair help to support that message in the small towns and villages of Sullivan County.
