CALLICOON — The Callicoon Fire Department will host a special American Red Cross Blood Drive today, July 18, in memory of three community members: Scott Pisall, Rebecca Pisall, and Rebekah Peters.
This event, taking place from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the fire department’s meeting room, serves not just as a chance to give blood but as a celebration of lives.
This July, the Red Cross invites community members to honor these three remarkable lives by rolling up their sleeves to help others. Walk-ins will be welcome, and new donors are encouraged. To schedule an appointment, call 1-800-RED CROSS or visit RedCrossBlood.org.
Those with blood types O+, O-, A-, or B- are strongly encouraged to make a Power Red Cell donation to have an even greater impact.
Who were siblings
Scott and Rebecca, and Rebekah Peters?
Scott Pisall, a 2014 graduate of Sullivan West High School, proudly served as a U.S. Marine after high school. Following his military service, he pursued a degree in Forensic Science at the College of Saint Rose and worked in the service industry. Known for his drive and kindness, Scott tragically passed away in November 2024 at just 28 years old.
His sister, Rebecca Pisall, graduated from Sullivan High in 2011. A lover of animals and nature, she had a deep connection to the Kingfisher bird, even writing an essay about it that inspired a local WJFF radio show. Rebecca went on to study Herpetology at Paul Smith’s College and passed away in 2014, short of her 21st birthday.
Rebekah Peters, born in Baton Rouge and raised in Sullivan County, was known for her gymnastic talent, love for her sisters, and devotion to the American Red Cross. After high school, she moved from New York to Las Vegas—where she tragically lost her life in April 2019, just days before her 32nd birthday. Rebekah was passionate about blood donation and encouraged others to give back.
