Dworetsky Parade kicks off holiday season

JEFFERSONVILLE — On a cold and windy Friday night, hundreds of people turned out on Main Street in Jeffersonville for the annual James Dworetsky Holiday Parade.

Named after the Youngsville firefighter who passed away in 1995, the event honors Dworetsky’s memory and his dedication to his community with emergency service volunteers taking center stage in the festivities.

Firetrucks and other emergency vehicles were decked out in holiday lights as parade marchers threw handfuls of candy to enthusiastic children.

As it has for more than two decades, the parade kicked off the holiday season in Sullivan County.
