It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Ellie (Brown) Fonseca, 69, who passed away on Wednesday, October 25th, 2023, from her battle with cancer.

Eleanor A. Fonseca was born on August 14, 1954, in Monticello, NY to Martin Brown and Evelyn Kelly.

Even though she was taken from this world, she left a legacy of fierce love and loyalty for her family, friends, and beautiful animals of nature. We take comfort in knowing she is with her daughter, Natasha. For those who knew Ellie, she was tough on the outside but full of kindness on the inside. She loved the morning animal feedings, with deer coming up to the doorstep and surrounding the porch, showing us the quiet beauty in her soul.

Preceding Ellie was her beautiful daughter Natasha, lovingly called ‘Tootie’.

Ellie leaves behind her son Nicholas; her mother Evelyn, who she generously and lovingly cared for in these past 10 years; her partner and best friend, Marty, who has been her constant companion, providing comfort, strength, and love; her siblings, Kathy (David), George (Shari) and Jimmy; treasured grandchildren, Katarina and Cascio along with their loving mother, Mandy; Nieces and nephews, Kara, Jesse, Daniel, James, and Edward; and a special thank you to her cousins Carolyn (Larry), Naomi, and Patty who supported and helped Ellie through her cancer battle.

The family are honoring Ellie’s wishes with a private goodbye and will arrange to celebrate her life at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to charities such as American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and National Eating Disorder Association, as this meant so much to Ellie. She selflessly contributed a great deal to both organizations in hopes of raising greater awareness, education, and preventions.
