Elinor E. Banks, Livingston Manor, NY, entered into rest on September 11, 2022. She was 98 years old.

Elinor was born to Norman Brown and Mildred Gutchess Brown on November 18, 1923 in the Town of Lapeer, NY. She was preceded in death by Raymond Banks in 1996, and Raymond R. Vandermark in 1968, her sisters Marian Robinson, Laura Medchill and Leona Hudson, and her brothers Thomas Brown and Lawrence (Corky) Brown.

Elinor is survived by her step-children, Gladys (Bill) Ivansco, Charles Banks, Rebecca Sherwood and Karen Banks, 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law.

Elinor was a long time employee of the A & P in Livingston Manor and also co-owner of Banks Taxi along with her husband Raymond, for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Livingston Manor. An avid quilter, she was inducted into the Catskill Mountain Quilters Hall of Fame on September 29, 1996. She was so proud to be able to gift each one of her 11 grandchildren a quilt for their wedding. She was a former member of Liberty Lanes Bowling League. Elinor enjoyed being with her family, baking yummy treats, strawberry picking, teaching her grandchildren how to sew, camping, and traveling.

A Graveside Service will be held on October 15, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Lew Beach Cemetery, Livingston Manor, NY.
