FALLSBURG — The Town of Fallsburg voted to adopt the 2025 budget on November 12, which includes increases in health insurance, employee pay and property taxes.
Health insurance costs for town employees are climbing, with the 2025 budget allocating $726,000 compared to $650,000 in 2024. This represents an increase of $76,000, or 11.69 percent.
The water maintenance personnel budget is set to rise from $460,720 in 2024 to $532,147 in 2025 — a significant 15.48 percent increase. Seasonal personnel budgets remain steady at $32,000, but other areas, such as longevity pay and allowances, have seen adjustments.
The Town Board’s overall salary line remains steady at $65,279. The Town Supervisor’s salary itself remains unchanged at $47,834 for both 2024 and 2025.
Fallsburg property owners will see a modest rise in taxes. The overall tax rate per $1,000 of assessed property value increased by $0.65, meaning that if a home is assessed at $70,000, the increase would amount to approximately $45.50 annually.
