SOUTH FALLSBURG – On June 15 at 18 minutes past midnight, the Fallsburg Fire Dept. was dispatched to a cardiac arrest call at Russell Street in South Fallsburg. This call came in after the fire department fought a major structure fire for 5 hours.
Upon arriving on the scene, the fire department came upon the Fallsburg Police who had already administered an AED to the victim and already had commenced CPR the individual had no pulse and was in cardiac arrest.
Without hesitation the following individuals jumped into action, 2nd Asst. Chief James Zeno, 2nd Lt/EMT Jason Edwards Jr., Firefighter Yehada Bamberger, Firefighter/EMT Kehos Borck, Firefighter/EMT Elazar Nadoff, Firefighter/EMT Jacob Weiser, Firefighter/EMT Yaakov Chavoly and Firefighter Nesanel Ehrman. These members proceeded to administer CPR, until the ambulance arrived to transport the individual to the hospital. Due to their actions and team effort of our members, this individual survived and was able to be discharged from the hospital. This is a perfect example of using the training given to our members, which resulted in a successful lifesaving event.
These individuals were recognized at the July monthly meeting of the Fallsburg Fire Dept. by the line officers and administrative officers for their heroic actions, with certificates of merit.
