WOODBOURNE — Sullivan County man Greig Quick Jr., bought a winning lottery ticket at the 463 Main Street Citgo in Woodbourne, according to a New York Lottery press release on January 24. Quick, a resident of Ferndale, claimed the top winning prize of $1,000 a Week for Life scratch-off game, which guarantees a minimum payout of $1 million. The New York Lottery reported that Quick chose to receive the minimum payment in a lump sum and took home $689,977 after paying federal fees.
New York’s scratch off games generated $4,373,546,208 in total sales during fiscal year 2023-2024; Sullivan County school districts received 13.7 million in Lottery Aid to Education funds during the same time period. The New York Lottery continues to be North America’s largest and most profitable lottery.
