SULLIVAN COUNTY — Four Sullivan County hotels operated by Foster Supply Hospitality have been selected for inclusion in the 2026 Michelin Guide, bringing international recognition to the company’s collection of Catskills destinations.
The company announced the selections October 1, identifying The Arnold House and The DeBruce in Livingston Manor, Kenoza Hall in Kenoza Lake and Hemlock in Neversink as the four properties included in the guide.
“We’re really pleased to now be included in the prestigious Michelin guide for all four of our small hotels and inns located in Sullivan County,” said Sims Foster, co-founder of Foster Supply Hospitality.
“This only helps to continue to promote Foster Supply Hospitality to a global audience while, more importantly, cementing our area as the amazing tourist destination we all know it is.”
Michael Martelon, president and CEO of the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association, said the recognition could help introduce the county to travelers who might not otherwise consider visiting.
“It just lifts our voice,” Martelon said. “It allows our marketing to go a little further. We call that earned media.”
Martelon said the recognition could also benefit businesses beyond the four hotels, as visitors spend money on food, drinks, shopping and other activities during their stays.
“That’s really all we’re trying to do is get on [visitors’] list of consideration,” he said.
Founded by Sims Foster and Kirsten Harlow Foster, Foster Supply Hospitality specializes in restoring and operating historic properties as boutique hotels, restaurants and retreats throughout the Catskills.
The Michelin Guide, best known for awarding stars to restaurants, also maintains an international collection of recommended hotels. Properties are evaluated for their architecture and design, quality of service, individual character, value for money and connection to their surroundings.
The Arnold House, located on Shandelee Mountain outside Livingston Manor, offers country inn accommodations, a tavern and outdoor recreation. The DeBruce, also in the Livingston Manor area, is known for its restaurant and 600-acre property overlooking the Willowemoc Valley.
Kenoza Hall occupies a restored 55-acre lakeside property in Kenoza Lake, combining overnight accommodations with dining and spa services. Hemlock emphasizes wellness experiences, including spa treatments and outdoor activities.
The recognition comes as the Catskills continue to attract attention as a destination for boutique lodging and culinary tourism. In July, Michelin published a separate travel feature highlighting several of the region’s hotels and restaurants, including Seminary Hill Boarding House in Callicoon and Callicoon Hills in Callicoon Center.
