WURTSBORO – The Friends of Mamakating Library are thrilled to announce a new collaboration with the Village Laundry Center in Wurtsboro to bring a community bookshelf to the laundromat.
This exciting partnership aims to promote reading and literacy among residents by providing a diverse selection of books for patrons to enjoy while they wait.
Located conveniently at the Village Laundry Center on Sullivan Street, the new bookshelf is stocked with books for all ages, generously donated by the Friends of Mamakating Library. This initiative reflects a shared commitment to enhancing community engagement and fostering a universal love for reading.
“We are delighted to team up with the Village Laundry Center for this meaningful project,” said Maryallison Farley, a dedicated member of the Friends of Mamakating Library. “This collaboration not only supports local literacy efforts but also brings together our community in a unique and accessible way,” says Library Director, Cheryl Jones.
Eileen Deyo, the manager of the Village Laundry Center, has been instrumental in making this vision a reality. She is excited to host the community bookshelf at the laundromat. “It’s wonderful to see how local businesses and organizations can work together to improve the community experience,” she commented.
The Friends of Mamakating Library and the Village Laundry Center believe that this partnership will provide an opportunity for all members of the community to engage with books and discover new interests, all while supporting the local library’s mission.
