Close to 100 students of The Janice Center performed in dance and instrumental recitals during a three-week span in December and January.

The Dance Recital was held on December 18 at the Villa Roma with 74 ballet, lyrical and hip hop dancers taking the Club Forum Nightclub stage for 15 routines. Lyrical continues to be the Janice Center’s fastest growing dance group - starting with two students a couple of years ago and now growing to 10 in this recital.

Among the popular routines performed were Snow Waltz (ballet), Carol of the Bells (lyrical) and Golden, We are Family and Don’t Stop the Music (hip hop).

The instrumental recital was held Sunday, January 8 at The Janice Center. Mostly piano students, ranging in age from 5 to 16 performed, each playing at least two pieces, many three. Two guitar students also performed. The Janice Center offers individual lessons in a variety of instruments including clarinet, guitar, flute, piano and saxophone.

Dance is offered during a Fall Session and a Winter-Spring Session. The upcoming Winter-Spring session will begin the week of February 13. Registration forms can be found online at http://www.janicecenter.com.

The Janice Center, located on Route 52 in Jeffersonville is a one-stop shop for the arts. In addition to dance and instrumental lessons, a popular pre-school program is offered as well as year-round Music Together classes for ages 0-4. For more information, please call 845-482-3324.
